A school district leader, municipal officer, civic-org board member, or long-time community supporter who wants the cooperative to stay rooted in Northwest Arkansas (or in a host community where a Hub charters).
What this seat actually owns
- Holds 1 of 2 Class C (Community) seats on the 9-seat democratic board.
- Carries the community voice into decisions about cross-subsidy, school pricing, hometown-Hub charters, and the Urban Recovery Mining program.
- Acts as the public-trust check on the multi-stakeholder split.
- Sits on at least one standing committee — typically community or recovery.
- Represents Community in the multi-stakeholder split (4 Patron · 3 Worker · 2 Community).
The rhythm
- 1Monthly board meeting (≈2 hours).
- 2Quarterly committee work.
- 3Annual community report; town-hall participation.
Where this seat can grow
Seated after the cooperative conversion; selected through a community nomination process defined in the bylaws. Nominations are open now; seats are subject to the subscription agreement.
